Explore the creative process behind custom artwork that is designed to connect with your audience and elevate your brand.

At Ink, great design begins with a conversation.
Every project starts by getting to know your brand. Before anyone opens Illustrator or starts sketching concepts, I want our team to understand who you are, who you're trying to reach and what you want your merchandise to accomplish. Our account managers spend time learning your goals, your audience, and the story you want your merchandise to tell. From there, they partner with our in-house art team to turn those conversations into designs that are both creative and intentional.
Depending on the opportunity, one of my favorite parts of the process is sitting down for a creative discovery meeting. Those conversations are never just about apparel. They're about learning your team, your culture, your challenges, and where you're headed. The more I understand what makes your organization unique, the better equipped my team is to create something that genuinely represents it.
An Extension of Your Team
The best creative work doesn’t happen from the outside looking in.
Before we ever start designing, I want us to feel like we're part of your team. We begin by taking a deep dive into your website and social media to gain a strong understanding of your brand, values, and the purpose behind what you do. Along the way, we identify the details that make your brand unique whether it's your location, a recognizable landmark, a signature experience, interesting character, or a memorable phrase. We then bring those elements to life through creative designs that authentically reflect your identity and connect with your audience.

Of course, we learn your brand standards, colors, typography, and visual identity. But creating great artwork is about more than simply staying on brand. It's about creating something that feels connected to your brand. When someone wears your apparel, receives one of your promotional products, or visits your online store, it should feel authentic. It should look and feel like something your organization would have created itself.
That's the standard I want every project to meet.

Collaboration Drives Better Creativity
You can't have great artwork without great artists.
At Ink, that means a real person with real ideas and exceptional skills. By allowing each artist to approach a project with their unique creative process, we're able to generate a personal buy-in from the very beginning. But the real difference is how we work together as a creative team. You don't just get one artist. You get a team of artists who all collaborate together and share ideas on how to drive the creative to be as effective as possible.
Some designers begin with typography and layout before building in supporting imagery. Others approach a concept from a different perspective.
Personally, I like to start by exploring each client's brand resources and social channels to identify the imagery that makes them unique. From there, I establish the typography, integrate the strongest visuals, refine the layout, and then either illustrate the selected imagery or enhance it using our editing software to create new, engaging visual treatments.
Throughout that process, ideas are shared, refined, challenged, and strengthened as our artists work together to create something that not only looks great but serves a purpose.
My goal is never to create artwork simply for the sake of being creative. My team creates designs that communicate your message, connect with your audience, and represent your brand well.
Who We're Best Suited For
The strongest partnerships happen with organizations that value creativity as much as we do.
Whether you have an established brand with detailed guidelines or you're looking for help defining a new direction, I love partnering with teams that believe thoughtful design matters.
A good design works. A great design sticks.
If you're looking for a creative partner who will invest the time to understand your brand before creating for it, I'd love the opportunity to show you what that process looks like.
